There is no more interesting winegrowing area in the United States than Oregon. In the northern Willamette Valley, Pinot Noir drives the industry and is the engine that pulls interest in other unique varieties. in southern and northeastern Oregon, illuminating what sets us apart from other warm weather wine growing areas is the key to success.

To be a successful wine producer in Oregon means to understand that Oregon wine is a niche industry. While there are tremendous opportunities in the $15 to $20 dollar Pinot Noir market, volume based pricing isn’t a competitive option, especially in the Northern Willamette Valley. Even the high teen Pinot Noir market is volatile as the demand is high, but two poor fruit set years make the ability to fill that demand limited. If you want to be a viable producer, you have to rewrite the rules and embellish what makes Oregon different.

Even with a good product, you have to be able to define, position and market your wine. This is where I can help. As a wine marketing professional I understand the market segments and how to brand your product to fit into those segments. I can help you strategically plan for the future based on your resources and branding.

Marketing has never been more important for Oregon wine producers. As many small producers emerge, it is important to define and project how you are unique. If you aren’t involved in selling direct, don’t have a coherent “feel” to your brand, don’t have a defined web presence, I would like to sit down with you and discuss how I can help.

I would like to help you define your brand, make it accessible to your customers and build revenue. My rates are reasonable, with flexible pricing based on the duration of the project. I am also open to a unique, long term partnership with the right producer. I am happy to meet with you and discuss how I can help with no obligation. Please contact me.
