The 2015 South Slope is one of our most layered wines of the vintage but also one of our most tannic wines. We highly recommend at least of year of bottle age for this wine and would guide you towards our 2015 Lenné Estate if you are looking for a wine to drink now. This wine is mostly a blend of Pommard and the 115 clones with tremendous concentration. The tannins are overshadowing both the mouthfeel and aromatics at the moment but there are deep black and bing cherry components, vanilla and mocha aromatics. We recommend decanting if you are drinking this wine early but it will reward those who have patience. The 2015 South Slope should really start to show it's potential with a couple of years in the cellar and contintue to evolve over the next decade. 92-93 pts Pinotfile.
