Lenné Estate's Oregon Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are entirely estate-grown, on our 15.5 acre hillside vineyard near the town of Yamhill, Oregon, in the Yamhill-Carlton District. Owned and operated by Steve and Karen Lutz since our founding in 2000, Steve makes our wines in a minimalist style, preserving the profound, rich fruity flavors produced by our unique Pinot Noir vineyard, and expressed via five distinctive clones of Pinot Noir: Pommard, and the Dijon clones 114, 115, 667, and 777.
What sets Lenné apart from other Oregon Pinot Noirs? Location, location, location. Our steep, south-facing slope is at the perfect elevation and orientation, and has some of the poorest, rockiest soil in Yamhill County which results in concentrated, densly-flavored Pinot Noir.
The style of our Pinot Noir is often described as full-bodied, fruit-forward, lush, and big. We don’t seek to make highly extracted wines, but our poor soil produces wines with density because of the small cluster and berry size.
Lenné wines have a distinct mocha-like aroma, a strong mid-palate texture, and a lingering finish.
We hope you will take a few minutes and browse the site and find out what makes Lenné a special place to produce Pinot Noir. We invite you to come and experience the terroir of Lenné in person.
