A bold, powerful wine, suitable for pairing with heavier dishes, including red meat. Kill Hill is sourced from the fruit at the highest elevation of our vineyard, and blended primarily from the Pommard, Dijon 667, and Dijon 114 pinot noir clones.
The 2024 growing season was long and hot, with a good-sized fruit set. 2024 was our third year as a fully-organic vineyard, and the vines have adjusted to the nutrition changes and are thriving. We harvested September 18-24; which is right in our typical picking window.
The young 2024s are the most approachable young wines we have ever produced at Lenné. They were bottled in early August 2025, and when we sampled them a few days later, we were astonished at their drinkability and soft maturity of their mouthfeel. Less than a week later we began offering them in our tasting room as "mystery pours" and were amused as guest after guest, including experienced wine industry tasters, guessed that they were three, or four, or either years old. The flavors are not complex or mature yet, but the mouthfeel is utterly beguiling.
These wines will gain much greater complexity and depth as they age. If they retain their soft and textured mouthfeel, this should be an all time great vintage.
